Building Trust in Marriages/Relationships Pt 1

I believe Most people will agree that trust is an important element in their Relationships or Marriages. What does the word “TRUST” mean? And why is it important in every Relationship and Marriage?


Trust can mean something slightly, or dramatically different to what each of us believe or see it to be. Being clear with your Partner about what trust does mean to you can be the first step in building trust in your Relationship or Marriage.Now lets try and think about the words people possibly associate with the word TRUST when they think about it:

Dependability,
Responsibility,
Integrity,
Honesty, and
Commitment

These are some common words that might help to understand and clarify the meaning of trust for every Partner in modern day.

In Relationships and Marriages, trust is one of the foundational building blocks,i mean it can never be neglected or ignored. We need trust to establish and deepen our Love life in every union. Trust allows us to feel safe and secured with our Partner,oh not forgetting peace of mind too,we feel safe to make plans and safe to share ourselves and our lives even to the deepest secret we hold dear. Trust requires that we keep our promises and show demonstrations of dependability, respect, and honour to our Beloved Partner.In Marriages/Relationships, the betrayal of trust can be devastating and heartbreaking too. Betraying a Partner’s confidence can leave them with everlasting scar,This can dent the trust in a union sometimes forever,it becomes hard for them to live the way they use to once it is broken. This is only one example out of the many of how trust that has been betrayed can affect a Relationship/Marriage and i will be exploring this topic further in a future blog including how to recover from the betrayal of trust in Relationship/Marriages.
